the dimples will get you...

it was sooo hot out when i photographed these boys, but they were super-troopers and not to mention very sweet with each other, which i am sure is the case all the time, right? :).....and i loved, loved, loved the dimples, i mean really, who can resist them?

Blessed...

One thing i love about photographing is re-connecting with so many people. I think i originally met this gal at my cousin's birthday party back when i was in sixth grade or something like that. I remember thinking it was funny that we shared the same name, there weren't too many of us. I never found my name on those keychains at amusement park gift shops and if people didn't know me they were guaranteed to mis-pronounce it. I remember even writing in a pronunciation key in first grade when i entered a drawing (care-uh)....sad....very sad. Anyways, now she's married and a hip mom of two beautiful kids....so sweet! :)

the blue silo....

so this was a fun session, they had this amazing blue silo which i realize most people probably wouldn't....and shouldn't get excited about, but i was thrilled, and then to top it off they had a pet goat! ...very fun. I remember driving back into Sabetha after this session to meet my sister at the girls' tennis lessons so we could run out to where Jeff and some of his guys from back home were working to play some crazy practical joke on them....i'm telling you, it's scary when we get together.....anyways, i was so excited cause on the way i found this amazing blue chair dumped off on the side of the road in a ditch. Sure, it had a few legs broken off and spiders crawling everywhere, but it would still be pretty cool to photograph with.....too bad i never did! :(

memorial day...

my brother came back for his 15 yr. class reunion over Memorial Day. They had an after party out in my Pop's barn which my mom went all out in catering for. We decided that she really should start her own business....called "Evelyn's Edibles", which i love but cannot take any credit for in naming. Now we just need to get her on board with the idea.....hmmmm........Here's some quick shot's of my brother's girls on the 4th of July! ....love these girls! :)

meet my sister...

so, this is my very beautiful and amazing sister who jeff was doing a project for. It's scary when the two of us get together- we can make a simple "light-bulb" moment into a week long crazy creative project that we may never ever use- but we sure had fun doing it and by golly it looks good too. Here's some shots from their session with the "infamous" jeep of Pop's!

a recap...

wow....it's been over 2 months since i've posted, here's a quick re-cap on some of the sessions from this summer. First off, here are my madre y padre who so graciously took us in while jeff was working on my sister's project....they are amazing! :) I love the picture of Taya with mom, it was taken at the first light of morning and definitely portrays how incredibly ornery she is....she's sugar and spice for sure.

...heading home!

so, it's been over a month since i've last posted- and much has been going on- however, right now we are all super-excited about spending time at grama and papa's house in kansas this summer while jeff builds an addition onto my sister's house....it's going to be a fun time! :)
