Homeward Bound...

so, i'm heading back home for my big (well, small really since there were only 15 people in my graduating class) - did i mention that one was a foreign exchange student? well anyway it is my 10 year class reunion and I am excited....can't wait to see where everyone is at now....craziness. Well two weeks after that a good friend is getting married out there so I thought "might as well stay" right? This would be the benefit now that I've officially become a "soccer mom" - and though everyone can plainly see it's a cranberry caravan in my mind i'm driving an arcadia. But, anyway... i didn't want my camera to get rusty or my mind for that matter so i'm hoping to get out and shoot- so let me know if your interested. ;)

Keith Urban & Carrie Underwood Concert

ok...so it was Monday morning and I had just dropped Jaden off at school when I heard on the radio they were giving out free tickets and backstage passes to the Keith urban & Carrie Underwood concert for the next night. I thought- "shucks, why not?" so- I called Jeff and we met up with some friends. Well apparently his business partner, Terry, is a HUGE Keith urban fan and Terry's son is even a bigger fan. In fact his son entered a "Keith Urban's biggest fan" contest and was a top 3 finalist so they sent a camera crew and followed him around on campus - he said he felt pretty important. So, we get to the concert and head up to our seats which were a mile up in foreverfarland. And we end up sitting right next to one of Jeff's employees and his "girlfriend, friend... i don't know" but WHAT ARE THE ODDS? So we're having a good time enjoying the music when Jeff gets a text from Terry that asks if we want his son's old tickets since he was given free tickets on the floor when he met Keith Urban. uhmmm....ok. We ended up being 20 ft. from the stage.... craziness.... not bad for a Tuesday night!

2 months, 1 week & 6 days

Oh sweet little Taya... - it's simply amazing to me how one little coo and ear to ear smile will brighten your whole world. It's all about perspective I guess. Taya has become such a happy laid-back baby- though I'm a bit confused why with her big brother and sister 24/7 "loving" on her.... poor girl... they've nearly flipped her out of her bouncy seat rocking her so hard and Josie just loves to sneak into the nursery and try to climb into Taya's crib while she's sleeping. Much to Taya's dismay, Josie has succeeded which I'm sure Taya will be thankful to have that memory blocked out since Josie did manage to land on her head... oh goodness. Lord, help us all...

The Party...

so it was Sunday and Josie's birthday...we were throwing a big bash after church for friends and family, so I thought "one less thing to do- might as well get her dressed up now". Now, if you know Josie, you know she has a very distinctive style - maybe you could say "eclectic layering" if you will. One of her favorite outfits to wear are pajama shirts over t-shirts (sometimes 2 or 3 at a time) long or short sleeved there's really no preference. She'll occasionally mix it up and layer bottoms as well which can get a little interesting when she comes out with her pink ruffled swimsuit over a pair of sweats- ...oh Josie....Josie.... Well typically before leaving the house she's changed into something deemed a bit more normal but that morning she wasn't having any of it - there was one thing on her mind- it was HER BIRTHDAY and she wanted to throw a royal temper tantrum - ....ok, it's cheaper than Disney... Needless to say I guess there's times you just have to swallow your pride and let your child discover for themselves.... who says wearing black Mary Jane's, brown polka dot leggings, a poofy white dress, crazy pink and red stripe sweater and three bows in your hair isn't HOT.
